PBS signs cooperation agreement with Turkish national broadcaster
A television crew from Turkish national public broadcaster TRT has already produced a number of features and documentaries about Maltese history
Culture minister Owen Bonnici today signed a cooperation agreement between the Public Broadcasting Services and Turkish national public broadcaster TRT.
A TRT television crew has already traveled to Malta, with the support of the Malta Tourism Authority, to produce features and documentaries about Maltese history. These will be shown on Turkish national television.
In October, a Maltese television crew will travel to the culturally rich Izmir, in the west of the country, where they too will have a number of creative opportunities.
"Malta has a lot to gain from this relationship with TRT, a giant in international media, we are also open to keep enriching the wide bilateral relations appreciating in particular the ongoing increase of tourism from Turkey," Bonnici said.
"We have initiated a process to explore this in more depth and to get to know each other much better. Our radio and television platforms will contribute to this cross-fertilization."
