Swieqi woman found dead in disused Qormi warehouse was a victim of domestic violence • Autopsy reveals Eleanor Mangion Walker, 33, died of head injuries due to blunt trauma
The police are suspecting domestic violence in the murder of a woman found dead in a Qormi warehouse, and are actively looking for the victim's estranged husband, sources have told MaltaToday.
The victim was identified as Eleanor Mangion Walker, 33 of Swieqi. An autopsy carried out today confirmed that the woman died that the woman died of head injuries due to blunt trauma.
Mangion Walker, who according to sources was a victim of domestic violence, has a daughter, aged nine.
The victim's estranged husband is Andrew Mangion, 40.
The woman's body was discovered Sunday night when the Police received a tip-off and searched the warehouses in Triq il-Kummerc, Qormi.
It was around 9:30pm when the police received information that there could be a dead person in one of the warehouses. Together with members of the Civil Protection Department, several police units started searching the warehouses. The body of the woman was found in one of the disused warehouses.
Crime Scene Investigation officers were on site Monday and recovered samples of the blood found on the scene.
Investigators said that evidence on the scene points to a crime of passion.
The Police's communications office confirmed that no missing persons report was filed prior to the grim discovery. Magistrate Josette Demicoli is heading the magisterial inquiry.
