Arson attack in Haz-Zabbar targeting sergeant major’s residence

A sergeant major stationed at the Corradino Correction Facility was targeted in an arson attack, late last night, when a person or a number of persons set fire to his residence’s front door.

The police’s communications office confirmed that an arson attack took place at 2am, in Triq il-Karmnu, Haz-Zabbar.

Although it will be up to the inquiry to established what happened, investigators believe that someone set a car tyre on fire in front of the residence.

The fire was controlled by neighbours, before the arrival of the Civil Protection Department.

An inquiry led by Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras has been launched.
