Rescuers in three-hour operation to recover dead person from shaft

A rescue operation took over three hours in an attempt to recover a person from the bottom of a shaft in a building in Qormi, the police’s communications office confirmed.

A male body was recovered from the shaft of an abandoned and unfinished warehouse building.

A spokesperson for the Police Force said that the police’s assistance was requested at 12:40pm. The discovery was made in an empty building in Triq il-Mastrudaxxa.
