Updated | Child dies after falling down in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq apartment block

A one-year-old girl who fell down four storeys in the stairwell of an apartment block in Triq il-Lampara Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq has died, the police have confirmed.

It was previously reported that the girl fell down a shaft. The police said that they were informed about the incident by Mater Dei Hospital at roughly 3:30pm. The girl died some time after.

The girl's parents are Swiss nationals and have been living in Malta.

A police investigation is underway. Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is conducting an inquiry.
