Man injured in gas explosion in Paola

A 48-year-old man was grievously injured in a gas explosion at his residence in Paola on Sunday.

The incident occurred at 9pm in Triq Nazzarenu.

The police said an investigation revealed that an explosion had occurred inside the residence of the victim.

Members from the Civil Protection Department and an ambulance were called to assist.

The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where it was later certified he was suffering from serious injuries.

A police investigation is currently ongoing.
