Student organisation Pulse has regained control of the Junior College student council, in an election that saw all seven of its candidates elected.

Pulse – a traditionally social democratic student party – had won six consecutive elections at Junior College between 2008 and 2012, but then lost ground to its rivals SDM who proceeded to win the next four subsequent elections.

The result means that Owen Michael Grech will be the new KSJC president, with Rebecca Zammit, Isaak Koroma, Gabriel Mallia, Leah Vella, and Jamie Cardona making up the rest of the council.

In its manifesto, Pulse had pledged to refurbish the study area and add sound-proof study cubicles, install rain shelters and more outdoor seating, to revitalize the five-a-side football pitch, and to add sanitary dispensers in toilets across the college.

They ran under the slogan 'Better Together', ostensibly drawing inspiration from the 2014 campaign against Scottish independence and Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign.

The announcement of the victory triggered celebrations in front of the Junior College that lasted long into the night.
