Reporter to discuss the rising levels of crime
Reporter on TVM to host Home Affairs minister Manuel Mallia, shadow minister Jason Azzopardi and acting police commissioner Ray Zammit to discuss the increasing theft and burglaries in Malta.
As a spate of burglaries and increasing theft have besieged Sliema and other surrounding localities, Reporter presenter Saviour Balzan and guests Home Affairs minister Manuel Mallia, shadow minister Jason Azzopardi and acting police commissioner Ray Zammit, will discuss the situation.
In recent weeks, police have been investigating the increasing number of robberies and burglaries reported in certain localities - particularly in Sliema. In an effort to address the situation, the police and the Sliema local council have held meetings.
Police have said that a professional gang of Bulgarian and Romanian men may be behind the recent thefts. It has also been claimed that the gang is using a van with foreign number plates to analyse a neighbourhood, while reports also state that thieves are scratching symbols on house intercoms - a move allegedly used to describe houses and help robbers identify which houses to target.
The programme is aired live every Monday on TVM at 8:45pm.
Reporter is produced and presented by Saviour Balzan, assisted by journalist Frederick Attard.
