Masterpieces showcased at Auberge de Castille
Masterpieces from churches around Valletta, including a Mattia Preti painting, in rare exposure at Castille.
The Auberge de Castille is currently hosting an exhibition of treasures and masterpieces found in churches around Valletta.
Organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts in conjunction with the Office of the Prime Minister, the exhibition displays historical and artistic objects, some of which are being exposed to the public for the first time.
This rare and unique exhibition, taking place inside a building of architectural importance, gives a sense of cultural, religious and social development of the Maltese Islands. These works of art deliver what our ancestors lived through and serve in themselves as an educational experience.
The exhibition also includes a painting of Mattia Preti which is being exhibited for the first time, celeberating the 400 years since the birth of the famous artist.
The public is urged to visit the exhibition between Monday 7 October and Sunday 13 October at the Ambassadors' Room at Castille between 10am and 2pm and between 4pm and 7pm.
