Homesongs Vol. 1 – Mario Vella

Brikkuni frontman Mario Vella will be resident DJ for the night at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, B’Kara, spinning a variety of personal favourites in the first edition of Homesongs, which will be held roughly every Wednesday with a different amateur DJ at the helm. Event starts at 21:00 and entrance is free.

Claire Tonna – Live with heartbeats and diaries

Musician Claire Tonna will be playing an acoustic set at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, B’Kara. Doors open at 20:30. Entrance is free.

Lights Out!

Party at Gianpula, limits of Rabat featuring Luc Adams, Ziggy, Mathematikal, Kugene and Pillu. Tickets are at €10 and can be bought from all Pull and Bear outlets and Ryan’s Pub (spend €50 at Pull and Bear and get ticket for free). Doors open at 22:00.

Andrea’s Cupcake Nation

Andrea Pullicino (of Patches fame) will be selling cupcakes and mulled wine at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, B’Kara to a relaxed music set. Doors open at 18:00 and entrance is free.

DJs Bob and Tim will be playing an eclectic mix of music at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, B’Kara. Doors open at 21:00. Entrance is free.

Yuri Didenko and Arkadi Zenziper

A two-piano recital by the international musicians at Manoel Theatre from 20:00. The programme consists of Sonata for two pianos by Brahms, which is an arrangement of his Piano Quintet Op. 34. Of tragedy and heroism

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be giving a concert conducted by Andris Poga (Latvia) at Manoel Theatre from 20:00. The programme consists of the Tragic Overture, Op. 81, the Concerto N. 1 in A minor for cello and orchestra, Op.33 by Saint-Saëns with soloist Simon Abdilla Joslin and Beethoven’s Symphony N.3 in E flat Major, Op. 55 ‘Eroica’. Skimmed, Areola Treat and Clandestines

Les Petits Pilous

Cult-favourite French electronica act Les Petits Pilous will be playing live at Tattingers Club, Rabat courtesy of Squadron and Don Disko. Valletta Chinese Spring Festival 2011

The China Heilongjiang Art Troupe, consisting of 30 artists, will perform at The Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta and will include the crème of China’s traditional art forms, such as acrobatics, magic, Chinese classical dance and music and more. DESA DISCUSS BEATLES

In the third pop culture even from the Department of English Students Association (DESA) at Portside Lounge, The Strand, Sliema, four speakers (Eric Monfort, Nigel Camilleri, Tony Cassar Darien and Tony Parnis) will discuss the relevance and impact of the pop culture icons, while Relikc and The Vzs will provide music. Doors open at 20:30, and entrance is at €4.

Open Day at San Pawl Milqi

An opportunity to view the archaeological remains of one of the largest Roman agricultural plants on the Island. Open to the general public on the occasion of the Feast of St Paul.
