The Burlesque Monster Cruise
Fifth burlesque variety show by the Dazzle Troupe, held at The Black Pearl, Ta’ Xbiex. Doors open at 20:45, show starts 21:00 sharp. Featuring bellydancing, comedy sketches, music and more. APRIL 26, 28, 29
International Spring Orchestra Festival
Fifth edition of the music festival, taking place over various venues. Opening on Tuesday, April 26 at Piazza Tigne from 18:00 with a performance of Haydn’s 70th Symphony by the Rotterdam Ensemble, followed by a concert on Thursday, April 28, 20:00 at the St Antnin Waste Plant in Marsaskala. The following day, on April 29, two concerts are taking place at the Manoel Theatre at 13:00 and 13:45 aimed for children. The Marathon will start at 10:00 and will include 10 one-hour solo and chamber concerts. Together with the youngsters, 10 established local musicians will also be performing, one at every hour.
The marathon will culminate with an orchestral concert taking place at 20:00 at the Manoel Theatre, finishing the 12-hour long event. Tickets are free of charge but need to be reserved from the Manoel Theatre’s booking office by calling 21 246389. A non-nominative contribution will be asked at the door.

Owen Pallett in Hamrun
Courtesy of Stagedive and Kinemastik, accomplished and prolific Canadian indie musician Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy) will be performing at the San Gejtanu Band Club, Hamrun, with support by local folk band Stalko. Loathe & BNI – Voice of a Generation Grand Opening

Frankenstein
Exciting new production of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror classic, directed by Trainspotting’s Danny Boyle and beamed from the National Theatre in London to St James Cavalier cinema. Terrain Vague
Exhibition of recent video, photography and paintings by Vince Briffa at St James Cavalier, in collaboration with Heritage Malta. The exhibition, co-curated by the artist and Sandro Debono, Senior Curator of the National Museum of Fine Arts, presents a dialogue by the artist, known for his transmedia, conceptual work, with select works from the National Collection.

Pedra, Sal, Mar
Exhibition by Catalan photographer Pedra Guillem Vidal at St James Cavalier, Valletta, collecting photographs as part of his major project Passatges. The images reflect the relationship between man and nature through the work of stone in different parts of the Mediterranean.

Spring Fête at Msida Bastion Historic Garden
Open day organised by Din L-Art Helwa between 10:00 and 15:00, with the aim of raising funds for the upkeep of the Bastion. There will be a guided tour and stalls selling bric a brac, potted plants, books, cakes and food preserves. Entrance is at €2.
