Follow the bawdy adventure of a hapless prince who, forced into an arranged marriage, flees from his stately home in pursuit of true love. On his journey he'll encounter some rather irate genies, talking camels and much, much more as he struggles to complete his quest. Often a showcase of both established and up-and-coming talent, Dazzle Troupe's Burlesque shows - taking place in various venues around Malta since 2008 - offer an alternative night out for culture lovers who like their humour rude, bawdy and - most important of all - entirely original.
True to form, the Arabesque Burlesque will feature both staple Dazzle performers along with a few new faces, including Joseph Zammit, Alex Vella Gregory, Veronica Stivala, Roberta Cauchi, Alex Spiteri Gingell, Bettina Borg Cardona, Pete Farrugia, Marie Claire Camilleri, Joe Depasquale, Steffi Thake, Angelique Muller, Marie Claire Pellegrini, Steve Hili, Michael Quinton, Franco Rizzo, Rambert Attard, Jessica Camilleri, Maria Cristina Caruana, James Ryder and the Chellcy Reitsma Bellydancers.
Directed by Nicole Cuschieri, this edition of the Burlesque shows will be one of the first projects falling under the Creative Island initiative. Launched earlier in the month, the online hub will bring together local creatives - including writers, artists, musicians and actors - to help them find paid work and collaborate.
Tickets for the show are at €10, and can be booked from http://www.creativeisland.com.mt/.
