Of sub-zero temperatures, plastic bottles and… modelling

Britain’s Next Top Model contestants were given their toughest challenge to date, having to pose in sub-zero temperatures atop Norway’s Folgefonna glacier, wearing empty plastic mineral water bottles.

The girls were sporting a dress-like garment made of plastic bottles held together by string, to promote a Norwegian mineral water brand. Though the girls seemed to struggle at times with the cold, many of them pulled through, including Maltese hopeful Tiffany Pisani.

Guest panel judge Giles Deacon, criticised the girls individually, telling Joy she looked like the cover of a comedy Christmas single’, and criticising Tiffany for looking as if she is trying to sell breath mints.

Weekly judge Julian MacDonald also added that Tiffany did not have to potential for a top model. However, she was called out during elimination and secured a place in the next round of the competition.

The contestants that landed in the bottom two were Kirsty, 22 and Alisha, 18. In the end, Kirsty, a favourite for a number of weeks running, was sent home. The next episode of Britain’s Next Top Model will air on LivingTV next Monday at 10:00pm.

II can't understand why people watch rubbish like this let alone why anyone would want to take part in it. It used to be we could turn on the TV and watch something interesting, now every other program is what they call 'reality TV'. In what way do any of these stupid programs reflect reality? I think what they do reflect is a total lack of imagination on the part of present day television producers.
