[Watch] Compilation of ice bucket challenge fails
A compilation of some of the funniest moments from the ongoing viral sensation that is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
The ALS ice bucket challenge has quickly become a viral Internet sensation. The likes of George Bush, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steven Gerrard, and Oprah Winfrey have all filmed themselves getting doused with ice-cold water. Maltese personalities like Peppi Azzopardi, Gaia Cauchi and Ivan Grech have got in on the act as well.
The challenge is simple. Film yourself getting doused with ice-cold water and nominate three people to take up the challenge as well. If they reject the challenge, then they must donate to a charity that is raising money to cure amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive disease that damages motor neuron cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It therefore effects the brain's ability to control or initiate movement of limbs. In the later stages of the disease, the victim is rendered completely paralysed.
In the original Ice Bucket Challenge, the challenger could choose to donate to whichever charity he wanted to. However, on July 31, 27 year-old ALS sufferer and former baseball player Pete Frates posted a video on Facebook asking people to take the Ice Bucket Challenge to donate to ALS charities and spread awareness about the disease.
Less than a month later, over 2.4 million vice bucket videos have been shared on Facebook from all corners of the world. The ALS Association has received around $13.3 million in donations since July 29.
Of course, with so many people taking on the ice bucket challenge, there was always bound to be quite a few challenge fails. This video is a compilation of some of the funniest ones!
