[WATCH] Gozo gets ultimate branding with British indie film
Filmed and set in Gozo, an upcoming psychological thriller – titled, appropriately, ‘Gozo’ – showcases a dark and dangerous side to our sunny sister isle.
An upcoming psychological thriller filmed and set in Gozo is set for a 2015 release in the UK, with the trailer hinting at an intense psychological thriller that makes full use of the sister island locale.
Directed by Miranda Bowen in partnership with Bishop Films and the British Film Institute (BFI), ‘Gozo’ is the story of a couple haunted by the past.
Initially happy to have found bliss in Gozo, young couple Joe (Joseph Kennedy) and Lucille (Ophelia Lovibond) begin to feel a strain on their relationship after a tourist goes missing on the island.
Sourcing sounds for his job as advertising jingle composer, Joe begins to find mysterious noises in his recordings, while Lucille finds their pool water contaminated as she tends to renovations at their farmhouse. As the house continues to decay and Joe grows more obsessed with the mysterious cry he thinks he hears on his recordings, the couple are forced to confront some unpleasant truths about the past.
According to information on the film’s website, the film entered “the very final phase” of post-production in early December, with the film being slated for a 2015 release.
