Will 4D revive Iraqi cinemas?
Iraqis warm to new '4D' cinema
The BBC reports on the new craze in Baghdad: ‘4D Cinema’ which, apart from the usual perks of 3D viewing, also incorporates theme-park-ride styled seats, which move to the action, and effects such as wind and bubbles.
This comes as somewhat of a last-ditch effort by Baghdad’s cinema industry which, in the wake of the country’s tumultuous recent history, has left cinemas bereft of any partons, who would rather opt for readily available and cheap pirate DVDs that they can watch in the relative safety of their homes.
