‘Birds of a Feather’ latest international TV series filmed in Malta
Filming is currently under way at various locations around the Maltese Islands for popular British series which has been running for almost 30 years
The popular British series “Birds of a Feather” is latest of international TV productions which have come to Malta for filming.
“Birds of a Feather” premiered on British television in 1989 and has a following of almost 8 million viewers.
The Malta Film Commission has confirmed that filming is currently under way at various locations around the Maltese Islands.
“Producer Matthew Mulot praised Malta for its locations and its excellent crews making this shoot possible and a successful one,” the commission said in a statement.
The commission said that Malta this year witnessed an increase in the filming of international TV productions. “Just a few weeks ago, Netflix were in Malta shooting scenes for the very popular TV series Sense8.”
The commission added that it aims to establish a more consistent film industry with back-to-back productions throughout the year. “As proposed in the National Film Policy, the film servicing industry is aiming to branch out its efforts and, apart from feature films, attract more TV serials, documentaries, commercials as well as game shows,” it said.
