Daniel Craig to play James Bond for the third time

A new James Bond film has been approved and is due for release on 9 November 2012, film studio MGM and EON Production have announced.

The latest adventure is to be directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes and will star Daniel Craig for the third time running.

The 23^rd Bond movie will go into production late in 2011 after the project was put on hold amid financial troubles with MGM filing for bankruptcy protection last November.

James Bond is one of the longest running franchises in film history.

Daniel Craig follows a long line of James Bond actors including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.

The latest Bond screenplay has been written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan
