Over a dozen (cheap) films for the kids

The first edition of the twice-yearly Cinema Children’s Day will be held around cinemas in Malta and Gozo on Saturday, March 12.

Children will once again will be offered a wide choice of films ranging from comedies, fantasy adventures, thrillers, dramas and animation.

On the day no fewer than 20 films will be screened by cinemas, which will include popular films exhibited in past months and also recent releases at a reduced ticket price of €2.50 for children and €4 for accompanying adults.  The admission price of 3D films showing on Children Cinema Day will be slightly higher than that of normal films.

Film screenings at the Eden Cinemas, St Julians, Empire Cinemas, Bugibba, Embassy Cinemas in Valletta and Tal-Lira Cinema in Fgura will run from 09:00 to 19:00. The Citadel in Gozo will exhibit films at 16:00 and 18:00.

The following are the films to be screened: Arthur and the Great Adventure, Yogi Bear, Gnomeo and Juliet, Tangled, The Green Hornet, Big Mommas – Like Father, Like Son, Animals United, The Chronicles of Narnia – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Megamind, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Legend of the Guardians, Gulliver’s Travels, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Africa United, Secretariat, Tron: Legacy, Despicable Me, Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue, The Last Airbender and Toy Story 3.
