Jessie J vying for ‘more mature’ musical direction
Singer in Malta for Isle of MTV performance in Floriana
An affable Jessie J greeted the local and international press ahead of her performance at Isle of MTV at The Granaries in Floriana tonight.
Complaining that she hadn't had enough time to sample local cuisine and do enough sightseeing, she vowed to try pastizzi on recommendation of a local journalist. "That doesn't sound nearly as cool in my accent though!"
Jessie J also spoke about her upcoming album, claiming that it marks a more mature change in direction for the chart-topping British singer.
"I've come to a point where I feel that Price Tag, for example, sounds a tad immature, and I'm ok with that. It's just a part of growing up as a person and a musician."
The singer also elaborated on why she took the decision to start doing her own styling.
"In this industry you run the risk of other people making a lot of decisions for you, and I began to realise that I was becoming something of a cartoon character. I know there's a lot of pressure in this industry to look good, but I'm trying!"
