Gaia Cauchi stars in Christmas concert for children
Junior Eurovision victor will be part of singers’ cast at Aurora’s Leone Grand Christmas Show
As December ushers in the Christmas season, the Aurora Opera House is busily gearing up for its annual Christmas variety, this year set on the last Saturday of the year, 28th December 2013, in between Christmas and New Year.
The Leone Grand Christmas Show, now in its 6th edition, customarily features young up-and-coming singers, dancers and musicians, making the event an ideal family-night-out. While these ingredients were by and large retained as the core essentials of the British-spectacle inspired variety show, the Aurora Opera House this year sought to augment the entertainment with established, and indeed, young names.
Veronica Rotin, a recent finalist in Italy's Io Canto television show, and Gaia Cauchi, Malta's Junior Eurovision Song Contest winner, will be participating.
The Leone Grand Christmas Show will also present an array of other artistes, including the renowned EnKor gospel choir and the Aurora's own Children Choir, together with established singer Nadine Axisa. Dance items, varying in genre and style will be presented by the Central Academy of Dance, the Senior Ballet Dancers from the Gozo School of Drama, the Voodoo Gurus, and the Alegria Academia de Baile Flamenco and the Naupaca Art Factory - two dance schools that operate as resident dance schools within the Aurora Opera House.
Regular tickets for The Leone Grand Christmas Show are priced at €5.00. Tickets for children under 10 years of age are free. With every 4 paying tickets, patrons are given a fifth one for free. These (and further information) may be obtained from www.teatruaurora.com or from the Aurora Box Office, which may be contacted on 21559452 or via [email protected].
