Coming Home among experts’ jury top five
Firelight’s Coming Home’s popularity soars on iTunes Charts
It may have not gone down well with the audience but Firelight’s Coming Home did wow the experts’ jury.
The professional jury from the 36 participating countries in fact voted the Maltese entry into the fifth place – after Austria, Holland, Switzerland and Hungary.
The song is also doing well on the iTunes Charts and today classified among the top 10.
Firelight’s manager Gordon Bonello, who accompanied the group to Copenhagen in Denmark, said the song was doing well in countries like the United Kingdom and Germany.
“The group is naturally very excited about this because the contest has given them a new platform. Making it to the finals was already a success for them,” he said, adding that the group gave an excellent performance.
Firelight placed 23rd when the televoting came into play but the group has taken consolation in the fact that the experts’ jury placed them fifth.
Bonello pointed out that this was the first time that Firelight sang before such a massive audience and the group had trained a lot.
“Our days in Copenhagen were spent training on stage, chasing the press and countless interviews were given. Some may think the delegation was on holiday… far from it.”
