Evening of jazz with Sandro Zerafa
On February 3 at 20:00 at Manoel Theatre, Sandro Zerafa teams up with some of the most important musicians in the European jazz scene
Sandro Zerafa will appear with bass player Yoni Zelnik, who can be heard with Avishai Cohen’s Triveni amongst others, Yonathan Avishai, who is currently touring with Omer Avital's band, and Cuban drummer Lukmil Perez, who can be heard with Jacky Terrasson, Givoanni Mirabassi and Jean Michel Pilc.
Zerafa is one of the most active guitarists on the Paris jazz scene. A graduate of the Lyons Conservatory he is the winner of several awards at La Defense jazz contest and a founder member of the Parisian based jazz musicians’ collective and recording label – Paris Jazz Underground. He has recorded three award-winning albums as a leader and 14 albums as a sideman. He has performed and recorded with musicians as diverse as Chico Buarque, Manu Katché, Joe Cohn, Youn Sun Nah, Sergio Krakowski, Rick Margitza, Logan Richardson amongst others.
He has toured extensively in France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco. He has been the artistic director of the Malta Jazz Festival since 2009.
