L-Ghanja tal-Poplu gearing up for 40th edition

L-Għanja tal-Poplu – Festival Kanzunetta Maltija being organised on July 7 and 9 is the result of a collective effort meant to highlight the importance of songs in the Maltese language, and will be celebrating its 40th edition this year.

Considering that the festival saw its beginning in Valletta, it was only natural that the 40th edition would be celebrated in the heart of the capital city, at Pjazza Teatru Rjal.

Songwriters, composers and music creatives are invited to participate in this festival in the Maltese language. This edition will include the PBS orchestra which will accompany the participating singers.

Proposals can be submitted at the Għanja tal-Poplu office, 227 Merchant Street, Valletta on Tuesday, April 19 at 21:00.

L-Għanja tal-Poplu – Festival Kanzunetta Maltija will be a collaboration between the Għanja tal-Poplu committee, Spazju Kreattiv, Arts Council Malta, Valletta 2018 Foundation and PBS.
