Gianna Nannini ends tour with Malta concert
The tour, which launched in Fermo in mid-March, has taken the renowned artist to various cities in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Naples and Verona
Gianna Nannini will be concluding her Hitstory Tour 2016 with a concert at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali on Sunday.
The tour, which launched in Fermo in mid-March, has taken the renowned artist to various cities in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Naples and Verona, where she performed some of her most popular tracks, including Fotoromanza, Bello e Impossibile and Un’estate italiana.
The set-list also includes songs from her album ‘Hitstory’.
Nannini studied piano and composition in Milan in the late 1970’s and obtained a degree in Philosophy from the University of Siena in 1994.
In August 2010, at the age of 56, she announced that she was pregnant and was subsequently featured on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, wearing a T-shirt with the inscription ‘God is a Woman’.
Nannini found international fame in 1984 with the release of her sixth album, the Conny Plank-produced Puzzle, which peaked in the top 10 in the Italian, German, Austrian and Swiss charts.
Sunday’s concert is being sponsored by Maltco Lotteries’ Scratchers, Malta’s national lottery brand.
Scratchers are enjoyed when the ‘Playing Area’ is scratched off, a number of codes and symbols are revealed, and if the symbols are matched according to the rules printed on the ticket, then the player is a winner.
Maltco Lotteries CEO Vasileios Kasiotakis said: "We are glad to have committed our sponsorship of Gianna Nannini’s Hitstory Tour 2016 and are confident that she will provide her Maltese fans with a spectacular concert experience that celebrates four decades of excellent music. It will be a master-class for all the musicians, artists and people of Malta."
