United Automobile and Easysell merge into Cars International Ltd

Historic merger between United Automobile Ltd and Easysell KIA (Malta) Ltd will strengthen the local car industry and increase customer focus.

Two of Malta’s leading automotive companies have announced that they will be merging their operations to form a dynamic partnership that will create a vibrant new force on the market.

With an equal shareholding, as of 1 July the car dealership operations of United Group and Tumas Group will merge their business into a new company, Cars International Ltd, putting them in a better position to bring their clients a wider choice and ever-improving service. Cars International Ltd will now represent the following brands: Opel, Saab, KIA, DFM Trucks and Goodyear Tyres.

“This joint venture will enable us to offer our clientele a greater choice,” said Cars International director Edmund Gatt Baldachino. “The KIA brand offers an enticing range of models which, together with Opel's popular line up, will create an unmatched product offering. Our synergies will also be reflected in our after-sales expertise, assuring clients of constant and consistent support throughout the lifetime of their vehicle.”

United Automobile Ltd has consistently provided a high quality service since securing the franchise of Opel in 1982, Saab in 1991 and Goodyear in 2008. Similarly, Easysell KIA, within Tumas Group, has successfully engaged in the importation and distribution of KIA for the past 20 years.

With the merger taking effect immediately, operations related to vehicle sales and servicing will also be amalgamated in the coming weeks and months. Changes will happen seamlessly, with both companies committed to avoiding any disruption to both current and future clients.

By the end of the summer, Cars International Ltd will inaugurate its new, state-of-the-art showroom in Qormi, where the company’s full portfolio of brands will be showcased. This unparalleled range will incorporate everything from budget models starting at around €8,500, right up to the Saab 9-5, currently one of the most luxurious premium vehicles on the market.

“We are very confident that the strengths of the United Group, combined with those of the Tumas Group within the automotive industry, will doubtlessly give us the leading edge to meet the continuously-evolving and challenging market place,” says George Fenech, director of Cars International. “Both groups have a mantra to excel in customer service and innovation; together we are sure to boost this to the benefit of the consumers.”
