MHRA concerned over drop in bus service at height of season

The MHRA has expressed its concern over complaints lodged by tourists staying in the Qawra area on the delays they are experiencing in bus services.

The long queues which developed in Qawra yesterday, coupled with the fact that people had to endure a long wait without any shelter from the sun, is completely unacceptable.

Those living and staying in Qawra have already been suffering inconvenience arising from the unnecessary delay in completing the refurbishing of the bus terminus, during which buses were allowed to block the only access road to the seafront indiscriminately. Residents and tourists alike now have to deal with an insufficient public transport service, and often have to wait for long periods of time without any form of shelter.

The MHRA called on the authorities to resolve this issue immediately so that a repeat of the situation does not occur anywhere on the island until Arriva takes over the public transport service in early July. Situations such as these can cause irreparable damage to Malta’s image.

wake up MHRA have a look and walk around tourist areas, namely St Julians, St Georges bay and surroundings, rubbish every where, bad smell, no law enforcment, less service to the tourist. Can you explain to me a client in a hotel he cannot buy a bottle of wine to take to his room after 9pm? is this service. The lobby from the bar sector is so strong. In Uk the alcahol ban after 11 (and not after 9) was removed years ago. mill hazin ghal ghar MHRA, sirtu toqghodu ghal kollox !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!12
