Palumbo’s launched 54-metre-long super yacht

The Palumbo Group announces the technical launch of “Prima”, a state of the art 54m super yacht which will hit the waves in July.

The super yacht was constructed by the group in its Naples operation, and is owned by the Columbus Yacht magnate. In the meantime, Palumbo said it is constructing another 55m super yacht, and designing other models ranging from 38m to 75m in length.

Antonio Palumbo, Chairman, Palumbo Shipyards said: “We are very proud to have reached this important milestone – the turnkey construction, of a super yacht, built to the highest quality specifications and fitted with the most advanced technology. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the realization of this unique project.”

Last year, Palumbo acquired two Shipyards in Malta, one of them fully dedicated to super yachts refitting.

Prima was designed by Sergio Cutolo (Hydrotech Naval Architecture) while its interior design was in the hands of Tommaso Spadolini (Spadolini Studio Design). Both are internationally acclaimed designers of luxury mega yachts, Palumbo said.

“Its design concept is that of a classic with precise proportions and without excessive flourishes. Prima also gets its distinctive look from unique elements like the curved upper deck windows, the sun deck on the flybridge and the open air conversation area on the upper deck. The interior design is geometric and elegant and is expressed in large open spaces, offering outstanding luxury, comfort and practicality throughout. The aesthetic leitmotif unfolds in its bright ceiling colours, dark wood panels, the browns of its Italian walnut floors and inserts of calacatta oro marble.”

“This state of the art super yacht has six staterooms including the full beam owner’s quarters with balcony and a VIPcabin on the bridge deck. It sleeps 12 guests and 12 crew members. It also has a large outdoor jacuzzi.”

Prima was also designed to the highest environmental standards. It consumes less power, pollutes less and its noise levels are low, Palumbo said.

Prima was built in compliance with the Rules of ABS and is suitable for unrestricted navigation on class notation Maltese Cross A1, Yachting Service, UMS. She also obtained RINA Green plus as an additional notation class.
