Vodafone Malta head of technology to move to Egypt
Vodafone chief of technology Ing. Sandro Pisani has been selected to move to Vodafone Egypt where he will be occupying the role of strategy director, reporting directly to the CEO.
This move is part of Vodafone’s exchange strategy where local talent is chosen to move to different markets to achieve further know how and experience.
During his ten year tenure at Vodafone Malta, Sandro Pisani successfully occupied a variety of roles. He started his journey at Vodafone Malta back in 2001 as Quality Manager and two years later he took over the role of Chief Strategy Officer. In 2007, Sandro was appointed Head of Technology, a role which he occupied up till this very day.
“Sandro Pisani is an asset for Vodafone. Moving to Vodafone Egypt is a great achievement not only for Sandro alone but also for the Vodafone Malta Team. This is truly a success story, because Sandro has continuously strived to develop his career and his achievements were recognized by Vodafone when he was selected to work as a director in a much larger Operational Company. This is another testimony of the fact that Maltese talent is being appreciated globally,” said Balesh Sharma, CEO of Vodafone Malta.
“This is a great and exciting opportunity for me,” Sandro Pisani emphasised, “whilst I will miss my colleagues in Malta, I’m looking forward to this new role in Vodafone Egypt. It is this flexibility and exchange that makes Vodafone what it is today, a company made up of different people, coming from different countries and with diverse ideas. Vodafone Egypt is a larger company than Vodafone Malta but certain challenges are the same, irrelevant if the market is big or small. The industry is very dynamic and changing all the time and I’m confident that I will contribute in the best possible manner to the success of Vodafone Egypt in the years to come.”
The name of the new Head of Technology at Vodafone Malta will be announced in the coming days.
