Melita Mobile completes indoor coverage works at Mater Dei
Melita Mobile has recently completed works aimed at enhancing mobile coverage within specific areas of the hospital based on customer feedback.
The works started a number of weeks ago following intensive technical discussions with Mater Dei Hospital management and approval of the necessary technical designs.
The setup used by Melita Mobile is similar to that being used by the other mobile telephony operators within the hospital itself and is in line with all required health and safety standards for installations in such locations. While attempts had been made to share equipment with other operators, this proved technically and practically not viable for all parties.
With this installation completed, all main mobile reception problems within the lower levels of Mater Dei Hospital have been addressed. These refer namely levels 0 and -1 where due to the infrastructure in the area, external equipment is not sufficient to provide coverage.
Commenting on this development, Michael Darmanin – Head of Business Services and Marketing said, “We are committed to provide a service equal, if not better, than that offered by our competitors. We have invested heavily in our network and the results are very clear. Our customers experience the improvements daily, and they talk about it – this has pushed our growth immensely.
"Coverage improvements at Mater Dei Hospital are very important to us and our customers. The location is a very sensitive one so we engaged in detailed technical discussions with the hospital management to identify the best way to address the issue. We have invested in this solution heavily and we are confident that our customers will notice the improvements and should also open up a new market for Melita Mobile.”
