The Environmental Health Directorate has notified all tobacco product retailers of their obligation to comply with the regulations regarding health warning photographs.

The directorate reminded retailers that it will proceed with legal action if tobacco products are found to be in breach of the combined pictorial health warnings. Retailers have to comply with these regulations by 19 January 2012.

As for tobacco products other than cigarettes, the directorate said the combined health warnings may be affixed as stickers, provided that such stickers are irremovable.

The directorate reminded retailers that stickers attached on the plastic covering that has to be removed in order to make use of the product is considered as not being irremovable.
