CryptoLogic acquires Maltese licenses of InterCasino
Online gaming software developer CryptoLogic has acquired the Maltese online gaming licenses of InterCasino
The company said it acquired the licences for a "nominal consideration" from OIGE Limited, operator of the InterCasino brand which is a longstanding customer of CryptoLogic's fully hosted casino platform.
CryptoLogic added that the transaction has the approval of Malta's Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
The company gave no additional details regarding the acquisition, but the move follows InterCasino and InterPoker's recent approval to operate in the newly regulated Danish market, also under a licence held by CryptoLogic.
CryptoLogic is currently involved in takeover talks with Amaya Gaming Group, with Amaya conducting due diligence on the business following its December announcement of a possible cash offer to acquire the entire outstanding capital of CryptoLogic for approximately $34.5m.
Under the UK's City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, Amaya has until next Thursday to make a firm offer for CryptoLogic or to announce its decision to withdraw.
Shares in CryptoLogic remain unchanged in London this morning at 135.00 pence per share, having gained over 64 per cent in the three weeks since Amaya's expression of interest.
