Bank of Valletta presented with Equality Mark Certificate

The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) has formally recognised Bank of Valletta as having successfully completed the certification process leading to the award of the Equality Mark.

The award was presented with during a conference held in relation to the EU co-funded project entitled 'Unlocking the Female Potential'.

The Equality Mark is awarded to companies that embrace gender equality as a fundamental value and, as a result, base all decisions related to their employees upon the potential of every individual, regardless of gender or caring responsibilities.

Being endorsed by the NCPE as an organization that fully complies with the requisites of this accolade is confirmation that BOV has consistently upheld its pledge to safeguard the rights of all present and prospective employees. This is achieved by nurturing potential and awarding individual achievement within a framework that is free from all bias. In addition, the Equality Mark signifies a workplace that offers protection against sexual harassment and a commitment to the provision of family-friendly measures to all employees.

Chris Said, Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family presented the certificate to Michael Galea, Chief Officer Operations at Bank of Valletta.

"Bank of Valletta has always been at the forefront in ensuring gender equality in the organization through equal opportunity recruitment and career development strategies," Galea said upon receiving the award. "Family friendly measures and initiatives that assist employees to find a balance between work and family commitments reinforce the Bank's commitment towards gender equality and underpin its efforts to be a model employer."
