HSBC rewards employee excellence in 2011

HSBC Malta rewarded four of its employees with the Employee Excellence Awards 2011 during its annual ‘Let’s Lead’ staff conference, themed “Transforming Today for a Stronger Tomorrow”.

The conference is one of the major initiatives within the bank's internal communications programme.

The winners of the four categories were Nadia Pizzuto for the Teamwork Award 2011, Odette Gafà for the Customer Experience Award 2011, Natalie Meilak for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2011 and James Buttigieg  for the Best-in-Class Award 2011.

In his keynote speech, new CEO Mark Watkinson highlighted HSBC Malta's achievements during 2011. He identified the challenges and key objectives for 2012, whilst outlining the need for ongoing change so as to remain profitable, efficient and customer-focused.

The Bank's heads of businesses, Paul Steel, Michel Cordina, Chris Bond, outgoing Chief Technology and Services Officer Philip Farrugia, together with Head of HR Mark Sims, provided further insight into the 2011 performance and their respective business area's objectives and plans for 2012 so that HSBC Malta remains consistently profitable and efficient in terms of costs and liquidity.
