As at the end of 2011, the stock of licensed motor vehicles stood at 311,947. Of these, 76.9 per cent were private vehicles, while commercial vehicles made up 15.5 per cent.
New licences issued during the period under review amounted to 4,416. Private vehicles accounted for 3,556 new licences, or 80.5 per cent of the total. The majority of new licences (1,082) were issued to private vehicles within 'Class 1' (<1300 cc), followed by vehicles in 'Class 5' (1801-2000 cc) with 745. Newly-licensed 'new' motor vehicles amounted to 1,471, or 33.3 per cent of the total, while newly licensed 'used' motor vehicles totalled 2,945.

It seems strange to review these figures as written. Therefore there are 239,887 private vehicles in the country. If the population is 411,000 this implies one of the densest ratios of private vehicles per populace of any country in the world.
