Cloud computing excellence award for Malta-based 2X Software

Malta-based 2X Software has been awarded the highly prestigious Cloud Computing Excellence Award for its ‘2X Application Server XG’ in the United States.

The Award was given by Cloud Computing Magazine, the authoritative source of news and articles for the global technology industry, which is published by TMC.

It is the first time that such an award, which gives recognition to companies that have most effectively leveraged cloud computing to bring new differentiated offerings to market, has been made.

2X Software in particular was identified as having demonstrated innovation, as well as the ability to improve the security of cloud environments, by the Award organisers.

2X Software is a privately-held global leader of desktop and application delivery, remote access and cloud computing solutions and has offices in the USA, Germany, UK, Australia and Japan apart from Malta. 2X is a highly-acclaimed innovator, whose products receive wide-spread recognition, and its customers include world-renowned organization such as Mazda, Harvard University, Fox News and many others.

"As cloud computing shifts from a competitive advantage to an operational necessity, an increasing number of customers, whatever their size or area of activity, have come to trust in the reliability and scalability of 2X products," Nikolaos Makris, 2X Chief Executive Officer, said.

''The engineering excellence, expertise and dedication of the 2X development team, many of whom are based right here in Malta, where we now employ 36 people, enables us to provide a range of solutions for literally thousands of enterprises, worldwide.

"The major international awards we receive, such as the most recent one for Cloud Computing Excellence, are therefore a very encouraging confirmation that our team is pursuing the right strategy,'' he concluded.

The Application Server XG combines the best in application delivery and virtual desktop (VDI) management by allowing administrators to publish applications and virtual desktops from an all-in-one platform.  2X Software also received Commended status in the CRN 2011 awards program in the Software Vendor of the Year category, for its release of Application Server XG. 2X was placed highly in the competition as runner-up to top award winner Microsoft in November 2011.

Paul Gafa, Chief Technology Officer of 2X Software, said: "Application Server XG  enables users to experience the full benefits of desktop virtualisation and improve desktop manageability, security, accessibility and performance. It delivers virtual desktops and applications to Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and iOS from any virtualisation platform. Therefore it is a perfect fit for any organisation looking to web enable any Windows Application or Desktop (VDI) securely without breaking the budget."
