Preparations are well underway for Malta’s biggest birthday party as The Point gears up to celebrate its second anniversary.
On Saturday March 31st, a public holiday, and Sunday April 1st The Point in Sliema will open its doors to host loyal clients and the public to reward them for supporting its outlets and activities during a successful two years of operations.
A veritable visual treat awaits visitors as the mall will be splendidly decorated for the occasion with over 50 outlets open to all throughout the weekend.
Shoppers can get lucky with numerous prizes to be won in a Lucky Dip. By spending as little as €25 shoppers can win vouchers for free cookies, drinks, parking, and money vouchers to spend in its shops. For the occasion stores at The Point will be offering discounts on their brand new spring collections.
Visitors can tuck into delicious treats distributed for free by Millie's Cookies while children will be delighted with Disney characters Minnie, Mickey, Pooh and Kung Fu Panda who will fire up their imagination with games and shows put up especially for the party.
If this wasn't enough The Point is also organising face painting, balloon modelling, animators and magicians for the little ones - games that prove popular time and time again.
Live performances will attract youngsters and adults alike while a car show put up by Paqpaq will regale aficionados on Sunday with a display of over 70 Ford cars including Mustangs and Escorts as well as one of the very first cars ever created.
The Point's programme of activities will be hosted by popular and much-loved personality Moira Delia while a special edition of the TV programme Ilsien in-nisa will be filmed on site.
The culmination of the celebrations will take place on Sunday at 6.30 pm with the cutting of a cake, among a shower of confetti and an ambiance of fun, excitement and sparkle.
For all those who join there will be a free glass of prosecco and a cookie whirl from Millies as The Point distributes 732 of them - one for each day that The Point has been open!
Airport Impressions and Ira Losco will help build up the excitement of the final round of celebrations with performances at 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm respectively.
"We'd like to thank the public for their loyalty and their interest in The Point," said Edwin Borg. "We have had an exciting two years during which the project has firmly established itself as a popular destination for shopping and a leisure stop for the whole family."
