Vodafone’s Fast and Furious Facebook game a hit

Vodafone has taken the rollout of its new higher network speeds to Facebook with a Fast and Furious game to reinforce the message of highest speeds, to engage fans and reward them.

Open to all those on Vodafone's page including those not on the Vodafone network, players have to demonstrate speed and jumping skills while collecting hearts along the way.  Against a Spinola background and Vodafone billboards and bus shelters, players have to run past the Love Monument collect hearts and jump to save their life.

The top scoring male and top scoring female will each bag a new iPad.  The game automatically picks up the players' gender from their Facebook profile and give them a male or female character accordingly.

The cartoon characters personify Steffan and Larissa - the personalities from Vodafone's new brand campaign promoting its best network.  Spinola in St Julians is the location used by Vodafone for the campaign. The game is equipped with a live scoreboard where each player can see their current placings.

"In just a few hours over a 1,000 Facebook fans were competing, with Fast and Furious played over 23,000 times!" said Matthew Zammit, Marketing Executive at Vodafone Malta.  "The popularity of social media, challenges us to find new ways of engaging our customers and promote our products and services in innovative ways.  When our ideas are instant hit it fuels our ambition to keep surpassing ourselves, for the benefit of our customers!"

Earlier this month Vodafone Malta launched the highest mobile internet speeds across Malta and Gozo with new 21.6Mbps HSPA capability already live across all of Vodafone's coverage area, and a roll out of 42Mbps capability in key areas and high traffic sites on the Vodafone network.
