APS Funds Sicav launches first retail ethical investment fund in Malta

APS Bank launches ‘milestone’ in bank’s mission to secure good return for investors with medium-risk fund.

APS Funds Sicav has launched the first retail ethical investment fund in Malta - the APS Regular Income Ethical Fund - which will be managed by APS Bank, as a medium-risk instrument that secures a good return for investors.

APS Bank said it would follow an ethical policy in choosing where to direct the fund's investments, supporting only companies that "bring positive changes to society and to the environment, and discard investments which infringe the fund's declared ethical policy."

Accordingly, the Fund will combine investors' financial goals with concerns for social, environmental and ethical values.  Investors can apply as from 8th June 2012.  During the launch period no up-front charges will be incurred.

APS said the latest Malta Stock Exchange annual report had identified its other fund, the APS Income Fund, as the only fund in Malta which registered an increase in its net asset value in 2011.
