Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi visited the offices of software group 6PM where he met senior management to inaugurate the launch of the group's new branding - 'Set the Pace' - accompanied by chief executive Ivan Bartolo.

Gonzi was given a demonstration of two of 6PMs medical software 'caresolutions' - StrokePad and Climate-HIV - which form part of the caresolutions suite of award-winning health solutions developed together with the UK National Health Service (NHS).

StrokePad is designed for stroke patients, producing a highly comprehensive, realtime digital clinical report for the entire management pathway from admission to discharge. StrokePad is a tablet-based product that enables the care process of a stroke patient to be recorded quickly and accurately from start to finish.

CareSolutions Climate-HIV is a specialised electronic care record (ECR) system for HIV medicine and is shaped after the clinician's work stream. The system makes it easier and safer to prescribe document patient encounters; write clinic letters, and code diagnoses and simplifies the process for extracting data for audit, service planning, commissioning and research.

Speaking to members of staff following the visit, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi congratulated the 6pm Group for its progress and growth, which today includes a workforce that has reached 150 employees.

"Notwithstanding the immense global economic challenges we are facing, Malta has a large number of small and medium sized enterprises which are developing successfully and registering growth," Gonzi said.

Ivan Bartolo said the company's new tagline reflects the essence of the rebranding initiative and the company's vision. "The new 6PM identity reflects the 6PM brand ethos; a brand that reflects innovation, strength, winning spirit and integrity."

Also present for the launch was construction magnate Nazzareno Vassallo, whos is the chairman of EmCare360 - a joint subsidiary of Caremalta Group, Vassallo's private elderly care provider, and 6pm Holdings, of which the Vassallo Builders Group acquired 18.6% in April 2011.

emCare360 is positioning itself to become the leader in IT solutions for the healthcare industry. A major area of interest is the provision of the infrastructure to store medical records and files in a database for Malta's public healthcare reform.
