Midi chief financial officer appointed CEO
Luke Coppini appointed Midi plc CEO, Darren Azzopardi appointed company secretary.
Midi plc's has appointed its company secretary and chief financial officer Luke Coppini, to the post of chief executive officer, the company announced.
Dr Darren Azzopardi has been appointed company secretary in his stead.
Both Coppini and Azzopardi do not hold office as directors in any other listed companies, nor have they held any such office in the last five years, Midi plc said in a company announcement.
Coppini takes up the role formerly occupied by Benjamin Muscat, who in April 2012 tendered his resignation just days after Midi chairman Albert Mizzi questioned the architectural style of their flagship property, Tigné Point.
Mizzi admitted in an interview to The Times that he was having "second thoughts" about the way the conglomeration of luxury apartments on Tigné Point looked from Valletta and that he was "not totally happy with it".
Muscat, 57, denied his resignation was related to Mizzi's comments and that it was time for him to move on, having been employed at Midi plc since 1999.
