Browse the internet while abroad with Vodafone

In order for customers to control costs when accessing email or internet while they are abroad, Vodafone has introduced data roaming spend limits and spend notifications that will help clients cap their expenditure.

Now a default service, Vodafone’s Data Roaming Notifications works on a total spend of €50 per calendar month.  The data session stops automatically when the limit is reached.  Vodafone sends two SMS alerts to subscribers - one before the spending cap is reached and another when the limit is actually taken up.

The limit can be extended by calling 247 or by sending a free SMS to 50915700 either from a mobile phone if one is using mobile internet, or from the Vodafone Mobile Broadband dashboard if one is utilising the Vodafone Internet Key.  The SMS must include the new limit, rounded to the nearest euro.   The default limit will be reset at the end of the calendar month.  The default spend cap can also be permanently changed (to be either higher or lower than the default limit value).

“Automatically, Vodafone customers will now have a €50 spend limit for data roaming with a notifications system that alerts them, puts their mind at rest and ensures that they will not overspend,” said Alison Ellul, Data Marketing Executive, Vodafone Malta Ltd. Vodafone keeps up to date with trends in technology in order to always offer customers the best possible service at good value, whilst leveraging its position as a global leading player in the telecomms industry. Vodafone’s data roaming rates have already been cut down by up to 50% making them the best value on the market.
