New president for Malta Employers Association

New council elected for MEA.

A former president of the Malta Employers Association was re-elected for a new term of office, succeeding Joshua Zammit whose two-year term expired in February 2013.

Arthur Muscat was elected by the MEA council. He was responsible for human resources at Simons Farsons Cisk plc for 30 years, where he served as company secretary. Muscat achieved a B.A. in History and Economics from the University of Malta.

He has been an MEA council member since 1995 and served as president in 2004/5. Over the years he represented MEA on the Malta Council for Social and Economic Development and attended various seminars and conferences in the EU as well as International Labour Organisation events in Geneva. He serves on industrial tribunal's panels that rule on trade disputes.

The other officers are: Vice President - Mr. Joshua Zammit; Deputy President - Ms. Jean Camilleri; Deputy President - Mr Stephen L. Muscat; Hon. Treasurer - Mr. Marvic Fenech Adami; Hon. Secretary - Ms. Maronna Filletti.
