Malta Airport welcomes Lufthansa’s increased capacity this summer
As of last weekend, Lufthansa kicked off its double operation between Malta and Frankfurt in the weekends for the summer. Later on, on 1st August, these double connections will be on a daily basis, thus further enhancing the connections Malta has with the United States, Canada, South America, South Africa and Asia. Lufthansa's other operation from Malta, to the Bavarian capital Munich, is operating with three weekly flights, and as of August, will go up to five flights per week.
Malta Airport CEO Markus Klaushofer welcomed this new enhanced connection to Frankfurt and Munich. He added that this will enable a better link for all travellers to and from Malta, not only from Germany - which is the third largest market for the airport - but also for the multitude of other available destinations served by these two important European airports.
He praised the commitment shown by Lufthansa, "as a clear sign that the investment by the airline on its Malta routes is reaping the desired results. We are proud to have worked hand in hand with the airline to become one of their leading Mediterranean destinations. It shows that our efforts in maintaining our competitiveness for airlines are proving successful."
Mr Klaushofer concluded by pledging to continue investing in the quality of the service provided at the airport, which is central to the overall superior passenger experience the Maltese airport has become renowned for, and an essential factor which all airlines seek for their clients.
