First Monarch Airlines flight lands

First Monarch Airlines flight form the East Midlands lands in Malta on Tuesday evening.

Monarch Airlines launched its Malta-East Midlands operation with the first flight - an Airbus A321 - touching down yesterday evening and welcomed by a water arch on the taxiway by the Malta Airport Fire & Rescue team.

Malta Airport also prepared a cake for the occasion, highlighting the airline's brand, the Maltese flag and the Union Jack.

The crew was greeted by Malta Airport's Chief Commercial Officer, Alan Borg.
