Major neuroscience international conference at the University of Malta
4th Neuroscience Day to be held at the University of Malta.
The Malta Physiological Society (MPS) together with Malta Chamber of Scientists, University of Malta, MCST and COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), announces the 4th Neuroscience Day at the University of Malta.
This major neuroscience international conference will be held from 22 to 25 October at the University of Malta Valletta Campus, under the patronage of the University of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Scientists. COST is managed in Malta by the Malta Council for Science and Technology.
More than 40 internationally known scientists from 24 different European countries and from the USA, will discuss a wide range of neuropathological topics with a particular emphasis on structure-based drug design, and synthetic chemistry pharmacology leading to biological characterisation of new treatments for complex brain diseases such as, anxiety and mood disorders, schizophrenia, autism-spectrum disorders, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and dementias. The scientific committee ensures the high quality and diversity of the scientific programme together with the accessibility of the meeting to PhD/post-doctoral and local Master students.
The conference will be of particular interest to: Chemists, Pharmacists, Health Care professionals, Psychiatrists, Neurologists, GPs, Psychologists, Community Mental Health Teams, Allied Health Professionals specialising in Mental Health and Medical, Pharmacology and Chemical Students, as well as all trainees in these disciplines.
A Special Issue is dedicated to this conference by the Wiley Journal 'CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics' Impact Factor: 4.443 ISI Journal Citation Reports © Ranking: 2011: 33/261 (Pharmacology & Pharmacy); 53/244 (Neurosciences).
Chairs: Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni and Prof. Richard Muscat in association with the Conference Interdisciplinary Chemical Approaches for Neuropathology Annual meeting of COST Action CM1103
Chairs: Dr Rona R. Ramsay (St Andrews, UK) Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni (University of Malta, MT)
The conference papers can be published as review and research articles (after peer-review).
Prof. Di Giovanni invites interested parties to attend the '4th Neuroscience Day at the University of Malta' and 'Interdisciplinary Chemical Approaches for Neuropathology' Symposium this October.
