Dubai World director appointed to International Hotel Investments board

Hama Buamim appointed non-executive director of International Hotel Investments plc

Dubai World director Hama Buamim has been appointed as non-executive director of International Hotel Investments plc with effect from 31 December 2013.

Dubai World is an investment company that manages and supervises a portfolio of businesses and projects for the Dubai government. IHI is the investment and holding company for the Corinthia Hotels.

In the process, IHI has created substantial capital value uplifts in its developments as well as a hotel brand (Corinthia) and management capability that competes among the very best and generates strong operating income.

Buamim is President and CEO of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and serves as the deputy chairman of the World Chambers Federation - ICC - in Paris. He is a member of the board of directors of the UAE Central Bank, chairman of National General Insurance and board member of Union Properties.

He previously served as chairman of Emirates Financial Services, chairman of Emirates NBD Capital and board member of Emirates NBD

Bank and Network International.

Buamim holds a degree in electrical engineering magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and an MBA with honours in finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
