Labour business forum meets MHRA president
A delegation from Labour’s business forum (PLBF) met members and officials of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
The delegation, led by chairman Marlene Mizzi, met MHRA president George Micallef and vice-president Kevin Decesare. The PLBF included members Stephen Muscat and Joe Vella Bonnici.
Labour said in a press statement that the MHRA referred to the fact that tourists’ average spend in Malta had not increased, while operational expenses for energy and wages had increased for food establishments and hotels had increased.
The MHRA expressed satisfaction at the rate of flights to Malta thanks to low-cost airlines, but expressed its doubts on the sustainability of the national airline Air Malta.
