Chairman of the MPBC Garry Crossan said that the launch is the result of a year’s preparations, during which the committee had defined the mission statement, contacted and met with relevant stakeholders and created the corporate identity of this business council.

The launch will be addressed by the Chairman of Banif Bank Luis Amado, who is also the former Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs “We are proud to be one of the drivers of MPBC,” said Luis Avides Moreira, Chief Commercial Officer at Banif Bank (Malta) plc. “The Bank will be using its leverage to assist enterprises on both sides for export and investment, and through MPBC, assist them with technical advice. Ultimately the aim is to increase trade relations between the two countries, and exploit the opportunities that exist.”

The event will also be addressed by Autusto de Athayde, the President of the Portuguese Maltese Chamber of Commerce in Portugal, and the closing address will be delivered by the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, Dr Chris Cardona.
