Bwin to start operating in Malta
The e-gaming company, bwin, is best-known for its major sponsorship deals with leading European football clubs.
The international gaming and betting company, bwin, will be opening in Malta, the parliamentary secretary for competitiveness Edward Zammit Lewis announced this afternoon.
Bwin, one of Europe’s leading online gaming brands, served as the shirt sponsor for Spanish football giants Real Madrid between 2007 and 2013 and is presently an official gaming partner and leading stadium sponsor of current Champions League holders FC Bayern Munich.
The company is the title sponsor of Italy’s Serie B, but it also sponsors MotoGP and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in sports other than football.
The company primarily operates in the e-gaming and sports betting field, but will also be investing in local poker and bingo.
Zammit Lewis said that the fact that bwin was choosing to invest in Malta showed how the gaming sector in the country was continuously improving and growing.
